"Luces del Pacifico" it is the first project registered under the EDGE Certification in Panama. The project seeks to be a pioneer in changing the residential market towards a more sustainable and efficient model for its residents.
EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), is a sustainable construction certification with an online platform for almost 160 countries. The EDGE application helps determine simple and economical options to implement sustainable design and construction within the context of the regional and local climate. EDGE can be used in new buildings, existing buildings and remodeling.
A project that complies with the EDGE Certification consumes 20% less energy, 20% less water and 20% less energy incorporated in the materials compared to a regional market reference building. The value of the EDGE certification constitutes a promotional advantage, as customers benefit from the lower service invoices and offer a path of sustainable good practices in the design, construction and operation of their buildings.
EDGE is part of a comprehensive strategy to guide construction in fast urbanization economies towards a model with lower levels of carbon emissions. It is an example of IFC's commitment together with the USGBC and GBCI to create markets that are competitive, sustainable and inclusive. //

“Luces del Pacífico” es el primer proyecto registrado bajo la Certificación EDGE en Panamá. El proyecto busca ser pionero en cambiar el mercado residencial hacia un modelo más sostenible y eficiente.
EDGE (Excelencia en Diseño para Mayores Eficiencias), es una certificación de construcción sostenible con plataforma en línea para casi 160 países. La aplicación EDGE ayuda a determinar opciones simples y económicas para implementar diseño y construcción sostenible dentro del contexto del clima regional y local. EDGE puede utilizarse en edificios nuevos, edificios existentes y remodelaciones.
Un proyecto que cumple con la Certificación EDGE consume 20% menos energía, 20% menos agua y 20% menos de energía incorporada en los materiales en comparación con un edificio de referencia del mercado regional.
EDGE es parte de una estrategia integral para guiar la construcción en las economías de rápida urbanización hacia un modelo con niveles más bajos de emisiones de carbono. Es un ejemplo del compromiso de IFC en conjunto con el USGBC y GBCI de crear mercados que sean competitivos, sostenibles e inclusivos.
